Speaker: Rtn. Will Jackson - Ukraine Aid
May 20, 2026 7:00 am - 8:30 am

Rotarian Will Jackson is the lead for Ukraine for District 1100 working with local clubs and international clubs to help and promote aid into Ukraine.

He spoke to the club on the 26th June 2024 and will provide an update concerning aid to Ukraine.

In the face of ongoing conflict, the people of Ukraine endure immense hardship. Rotary
members and our communities have rallied to provide crucial support, whether through
physical aid or financial donations.

Every effort, large or small, helps alleviate the suffering of those affected by the war. By

pooling resources and coordinating, we ensure vital supplies reach those in need.

Initially, much aid from these islands was sent to Ukraine for onward distribution.

However, some items were inappropriate or unnecessary, diverting time and resources to
their disposal.

Today, aid continues - but is more tailored to real needs, with better coordination. Its

delivery is planned in advance for efficient distribution.

Financial donations also play a pivotal role in facilitating the purchase and distribution of

essential items for those impacted by war.

Speaker: Zac Dugdale-Close - Youth Moves 224
May 27, 2026 7:00 am - 8:30 am

224 will deliver life changing youth work and incredible opportunities for south Bristol’s young people. Powered by the history, knowledge and values of the long-established Youth Moves charity, 224 Youth Zone will be a world class space for young people, from a diverse range of backgrounds, to explore their talents, develop new skills and thrive. It’ll be a place that belongs to young people and is wholly dedicated to them. But it won’t just be a building, it’ll be a safe environment that will inspire them with passionate youth workers offering the support they need. 224 will continue with the youth-driven work of Youth Moves, helping and encouraging young people to lead happy and aspirational lives, to feel safe and be themselves. With every workout or kickabout, every mock interview or muck around with mates, young people will develop the resilience to face challenges and the skills to solve problems. They’ll find confidence to aim high and the determination to become who they want to be. They’ll build positive relationships based on being given the space to talk, an understanding of their own self-worth, and a sense of belonging to something bigger.
