A Friendly, Not-for-Profit Club

Welcome to our vibrant Rotary Club! With over 50 enthusiastic members, we proudly stand as one of the largest Rotary Clubs in our area, and our numbers are growing stronger with each passing year. Our diverse membership spans from energetic individuals in their twenties to seasoned retirees, ensuring a dynamic range of perspectives and experiences.

At our club, members have the opportunity to engage in a myriad of exciting activities, from social gatherings to fundraising events and invaluable business networking opportunities. We believe in fostering a sense of camaraderie and purpose among our members, empowering them to make a meaningful impact both locally and globally.

As part of Rotary International, a premier global service organization boasting 1.4 million members across over 200 countries, we are committed to the noble mission of service to others, integrity promotion, and the advancement of world understanding, goodwill, and peace. Together, we envision a world where individuals unite to effect lasting change, not only across continents but also within our own communities and within ourselves.

As proud members of this esteemed organisation, we have the privilege of tapping into a vast network of like-minded individuals—neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers—spanning every corner of the globe. Through Rotary, members have the opportunity to embark on transformative journeys, travelling the world and forging meaningful connections with fellow Rotarians worldwide.

Our commitment to impactful service knows no bounds. Through collaborative efforts with Rotary clubs worldwide, our international projects are meticulously planned and executed, ensuring that our resources are utilised in the most effective and impactful manner possible.

At the heart of our endeavours lies a shared belief in our collective responsibility to address the world's most pressing challenges. Whether it's promoting peace, combating disease, providing essential resources like clean water and sanitation, or supporting education and economic growth, our club's initiatives are geared towards making a tangible difference in the lives of others.

Join us on this journey of service and fellowship, as we unite to create a brighter, more sustainable future for generations to come. Together, we can turn our shared vision into reality, one meaningful action at a time.

Join Us for a Breakfast Meeting

We Rotarians are a friendly bunch! We meet weekly on Wednesdays to have breakfast together and learn something new from a guest speaker. During COVID times we meet online using Zoom. If you’d like to come along to a meeting – without cost or obligation – contact our club secretary: secretary@bristolbreakfastrotary.org.uk

Please note that our current venue is not wheelchair accessible. Anyone requiring disability access of any sort should contact the secretary in advance to discuss their particular requirements and we will work with the Redland Green Club to provide safe access to our meetings if possible. Because of the nature of the venue Bristol Breakfast Rotary Club are unable to guarantee that safe access can be provided in all circumstances.

Rotarians are people of action and Bristol Breakfast Rotary Club is no exception. Our ‘tag’ line is ‘Step forward give back’, that epitomises what we do and here is a taste of what that looks like.

Dragon Boat Festival

We hold an annual Dragon Boat Festival, this year our headline charity was The Green House, a wonderful Bristol based charity, supporting services for children, young people and their families who have experienced sexual abuse.

Supporting a Range of Community Projects in Bristol

The range of our other community and vocational projects both currently and over the last couple of years is staggering, we support The Brightwell (The MS Therapy Centre), Swifts inclusive swimming galas, Young Artist and Young Musician competitions, we sponsor young people to go to Kids Out and Barton Camp (many of these young people never get the opportunity to experience anything like this). We support Young Carers, Rotary Youth Leadership programmes, schools technical challenges and initiatives organised by Bristol Waste for schools to learn about re-cycling. We support the Hartcliffe and Withywood Partnership, one of their young members won a Rotary Young Citizen award with our support and encouragement. Over the years we have planted thousands of crocus bulbs all over our great city, celebrating Rotary’s work in eradicating global polio.

We have an outstanding relationship with The Bridge Learning Campus in Hartcliffe, providing daily breakfasts, supporting Christmas parties and gifts, help with uniforms and IT equipment, a summer book club, environmental projects and mentoring students with complex SEN’s to complete the Leadership and Management Programme, helping them make the most of their potential.

Supporting Projects Overseas

Our International Projects and Rotary Foundation Projects are no less impressive, we financially support Rotary’s Global fund for the End Polio Now campaign. In Africa we support The Carel Du Toit centre, helping deaf children, Maji Safi who provide boreholes, facilitating clean water to remote communities, Tools for self-reliance who provide re-cycled tools and craft items to help people become self-sufficient, we support 3H – Hours of human happiness, making lives easier in remote areas of Eastern Uganda and in Cape Town we support I love coffee a charity that educates and, employs deaf young people to become baristas, chefs and all things hospitality.

In Nepal, together  with our Nepalese Rotary partners  we support a wonderful electric cooking initiative, moving people away from the reliance of wood fire cooking indoors with its inherent health risks. This year we will support an application for a substantial Global Grant as a sustainable solution to this environmental problem. We support two students with vocational training and transport costs and in Kathmandu we have sponsored four sales carts enabling women to set up their own businesses and become self-sufficient.

Globally, we support Disaster Aid Europe with their efforts in Lebanon, Syria and Turkey and of course Ukraine and we support the global provision of water survival boxes.
