Young Violin Prodigy Vera Takes Top Honors at Bristol Rotary Young Musician Competition

In an exhilarating display of talent, Vera, a Year 9 student, has emerged victorious at the prestigious Bristol Rotary Young Musician Competition held on January 19, 2024. The competition, featuring 24 exceptionally skilled young musicians from various schools in Bristol and beyond, witnessed Vera's outstanding performance clinching the first prize.

Amidst stiff competition comprising a diverse range of instruments and musical genres, Vera's rendition of Bach's solo G minor Sarabande, Wieniawski’s Scherzo-Tarantella, and the final movement from Franck’s violin sonata captivated the panel of esteemed adjudicators, securing her the coveted first prize trophy.

At just 13 years old, Vera's remarkable achievement is even more commendable, considering she was the youngest performer of the night. Her triumph adds to the legacy of success for Clifton College, with Vera joining the ranks of previous first prize-winning violinists from the institution.

Wishing her continued success on her musical journey, Vera's dedication to mastering the violin alongside her studies in clarinet and organ at Clifton College, as well as her participation in the Junior Royal Academy of Music in London Saturday school, reflects her unwavering commitment to excellence.

Congratulations to Vera on this well-deserved accomplishment, and we eagerly anticipate witnessing her future endeavors in the world of music!
